Red, Food and Ribbon Challenge

When, I set this challenge, I had no idea what I was going to do.  Then shopping for groceries, I found a packet of red velvet cake mix.  Ummmm, kids and a cake packet.  That might work......

Well, as you can see from the pic, that did not happen.  My sister and I needed to get some pics printed of the Bay to Birdwood run our families did a couple of weeks ago.  While hunting through those pics (and getting them ready to print), I started looking through other pics and these fruit cake pics jumped out at me.  Needless to say, they were my new inspiration.

The papers used are from Kaszazz's new Christmas range of papers.  These were released at the last Team Training Day in September.  Where we had a beautiful roast lunch and this cake.  I can honestly say it was the most amazing fruit cake and it was seriously, full of real fruit.  Pineapples, peach, figs, cherries and sultanas.  And nuts.  Perfect combo.

TTD September 2012

enjoying the pics.  This is all the new yummy creations I got to make up with the new products.  I thoroughly enjoyed the last week of creating and getting into the Christmas spirit 100+ days early.  LOVE colouring with the Distress markers.  So was in my element with these creative creations from the amazing Kaszazz consultants that got to test and play earlier than the rest of us.  They have done an amazing job.  Which is wonderful for me, because I am so looking forward to teaching these workshops.  Gorgeous colours, products and samples to drool over.  I still cannot bring myself to pop away the table with all the goodies.  If there are any workshops that grab your eye, Please let me know.

Chat soon.

new challenge

Our latest challenge was to create something using the color combination below. And if possible make it male  related and use stickles.  It took me a long time to decide what I was going to do.  Today, it just came to me.  I was actually setting up for a class when the inspiration hit.  Bad timing.  But never the less, I made an effort to get it started before the ladies turned.  If Ido not get the ideas out of my head as they hit, they seem to get lost and never return like I imagined.      So glad I finished this one.  It has turned out better than I imagined, with some help from the ladies.  Circles seem to be in at the moment.  They are on a lot of creations I have seen lately.  They were perfect for this photo.

Customer Request.......

One of my beautiful customers came to me recently, and showed me a copy of Cardmaking with Paper Sculpture.  This magazine, has some stunning creations by the master sculptor Greg Sukendro.  Truly inspirational works of art.  Betty, asked if we could have a go at making some with all Kaszazz products.  So with great eagerness, we set out to see what we could do.  By no means is our card as wonderful as Greg Sukendro's.  However, we were really pleased with our finished results.  This one little card took just over two hours to complete.

For each of the 42 stunning creations, there are instructions and templates.
Until next time, have fun creating!!!

Peacock Colour Challenge

This fortnight's challenge was to create a project (anything we liked), that was in the colour scheme of a peacock feather. The idea was given to me while looking through a fab colour site www.design-seed.com They have these beautiful combinations.

I wanted to try a combination. Out of my comfort zone. Something that I would not normally choose to play with. Boy, did I get that with these colours.

Rustic Silhouette Christmas Cards

I had some quiet time this afternoon, while all my boys were at a working bee for SES. I took the time to create these set of cards for a wonderful group of ladies that attend my workshops Monday afternoons. We are doing Christmas cards once a fortnight until Christmas.
I have been hanging out to really play with the new silhouette stamps. They are just beautiful.
So, with this uninterrupted time on my hands, I sat and stamped and created to my hearts content. A few hours later, I was quite impressed with the finished cards. These will be going in my pile of "please write up and submit". Just give me a little time to do this. I have three projects going in this week and I am holding 4 workshops this week too.

Have fun creating. Be back soon. With more to share.

Watercolor Paper

Finally Kaszazz is selling watercolor paper.  Those of you who know me well, know I have been using watercolor paper for years.  Now, I can use it and share what this amazing paper can do.  I have created a set of cards using embossing, distress inks, distress markers, stamps and the blending tool.  I have had a ball.   Love the effect this paper gives to stamping.  You get such a clear image on watercolor paper.  Here is the set of cards.  There are many many many layers of ink and blending to get the final results.  Two of the cards have glossy accent over the top to give the flowers a more lifted look.

Time......

I have had lots of people requesting the male layout I did a few weeks ago. They have also wanted a second page or pocket pieces to go with it. Well those people will be happy to know, a second page is not far off completion. It is really just waiting for a photo. I know which one I want. I just need to find it

In the process of deciding on what to put with the page, I came up with a set of three cards. These cards are already getting the same response as the page. So, looks like I will be writing these up too and testing and submitting.

Next, idea is a off the page project in the same theme. It's been running around in my head all night. Not sure if I am going to do it or not. Do not want to over do the same style.

Till next time, have fun creating. And enjoy the creative journey

TIM HOLTZ

Well, it has been a whirlwind of a week.  So much going on and so little time.

Although my time in Melbourne was extremely brief, I would do it all again in a heartbeat.  Tim, is the most humble, friendly and warm man I have met in a long time.  His workshop was a fast paced information overload, that had my head swimming with ideas.  Love new inspiration.  I also met some lovely consultants and wonderful staff from HQ.

Due to family reasons and budget I made the decision to fly out at the crack of dawn and flew home about 10pm.  3.5 hours of productive shopping first thing after landing and finding out where I needed to be.  An amazing lunch at the Trust Melbourne. And then a short walk across the road, to the Oaks on Market to start the workshop.  As soon as we sat down there was no stopping.  I have some groovy tags full of techniques to share with you all (later). And a note pad full of tips, tricks and other useful information.

Remember to have fun creating, and Enjoy the journey

Two more Sleeps

That is right...... two more sleeps and then I will be in Melbourne meeting one of my biggest idols.  The all mighty TIM HOLTZ.  I cannot tell you how extremely excited I am.  I am feeling a little overwhelmed and nervous.  I am sure I will be fine once I get to Melbourne and get to where I need to be.

This is definatley a once in a life time opportunity and I am extremely honoured to be have this opportunity.  I am sure once I get back I will have lots of exciting news to share.

I also have a little achievement coming up tomorrow.  I will be celebrating 5 years with Kaszazz.  I seriously never thought I would be around this long.

I joined for the love of creating and the fact I truly wanted products as cheap as I could get them, as I was a stay at home mum with two little boys and a husband who was at work all the time.  I signed without even having a party and only meeting my upline once.  Within the first 4 months of joining I had my first downline member (who has unfortunately left my team for other adventures).  Shortly after, she joined, we were doing markets together.  And before long I was doing regular workshops from home on a Friday evening.

Needless to say the rest is history.  Without a doubt, joining has been awesome for my self esteem, and confidence.  Although the journey has not always been up hill and I could never say it has been easy, I would definatley do it all over again.

For without joining, i surely would not have met alot of you.  I would not have had nearly as much fun.  And I am not sure I would have learnt as many lessons or techniques.

Thank you to all that have helped me along the way.

Here is to celebrating where my creative journey has been and where it is going to go from here (starting with meeting the man himself  - MR TIM HOLTZ).  Creating is not something I will be giving up anytime soon.  So, remember its about having fun and enjoying the journey

Until next time stay creative

Inside Goody Bags

Well, a few days ago, I said I would show you what was inside the goody bags.  The lovely ladies found one of  these beautiful bright candy striped twines and a NEW (unused, the stamp here is mine and it has been used) vintage butterfly stamp and a mini fun sized mars bar.   It was great to see the surprise on their faces when they opened their little bags and found new products in them.  I also, got a great response for the new packaging. The packaging will soon be found on most of our products.  I think it is cute.  I love it alot more than the old branding.

The twine is wrapped around these really cute tiny cotton wheels.  I have lots of ideas for them.  Just need to use up some more twine so I can put the ideas into play.  SO SO SO cute.  I will be back with more to show you really soon.

Have fun crafting

TTD Make and Take and Demonstration Cards

Ok, here are the three cards that all the wonderful ladies that attended my TTD, got to see.  I demonstrated, the girl on a swing sunset card and the happy butterfly card. Then the ladies, got to make the bird on a wire card, using the beautiful new masking tape.  You could make this card for free by booking your own demonstration/get together.  So easy and a great use of the masking tape.  I am sure you will see lots of masking tape used on many projects coming up.  It is self adhesive. Sticks beautifully and looks amazing.  It comes in some great designs.

Here I Come!!! Watch out Melbourne

YEP, I am going!!! Confirmation just came through.   I cannot believe it!!  My little white fluffy cloud just got enormous.  lol... Now to organise the rest of the details.   THANKS KASZAZZ, you are about to rock my little world.
